as the title suggests, my msn (v6.2) doesnt flash when someone is talking to me. (like it normally does)

I'm using the theme "fo-src" if that helps.

do you mean in the systray or in the taskbar?

Theme dependent. Your theme probably has the taskbar set up so it doesn't flash.
