When im using ckvwm (1.41) iv noticed that the width and height is never what i set it as!
For example, iv set it as width 21 height 100.
but it displays as 19, 98 !

Also iv noticed the 1st desktop is a few pix smaller than the rest, and sometimes theres a gap after the last desktop!
The highlighted desktop doesnt seem to fill the area.

Is this a bug, or have I done something very wrong!

Settings for borders perhaps? I've not worked with ckvwm very much but that seems the most logical explanation (1+19+1==21;1+98+1==100; as I'm sure you realized).

Give the doc a thorough read through and if you can't get it to work why not try another module. I'd suggest rabidVWM (it's exactly the size I expect it to be :P), but I'm sure everyone's got their favorite.

id like to try n stick with it as ive managed to get the mouse wheel to change through the desktops on ckvwm, i couldnt get that to work right on rabidvwm.
