How can I uninstall Litestep?, add/remove function in Control Panel of Windows OS not good enough. Other compuiter programs will not work when LS is in place.

Then I guess a Windows reinstall.
What programs won't run?
Why is uninstalling it properly not good enough?

No no you don't have to format, first off just use the installer setshell things to change to explorer, and make sure that solves the problem.

Then, try to uninstall it via the control panel (I know that doesn't work for you, but someone else might see this), try the uninstall icon and shortcuts that litestep has in the start menu.

If absolutely nothing is working, I would just regedit litestep out in the important areas, and be done with it.

By the way, I am also curious as to what programs won't run. Been a LS user for 5 years (+/-), and I haven't had any problems.

LS doesn't set any rigistry, except for the shell one. Jsut use setshell to set explorer as the shell, and delete your litestep folder.

Actually, Omar's installer does add a few registry settings - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Litestep

There might be more if you installed it for all users, but I only installed for the current user.

Also, at least on Windows 2000, you must change other registry values to prevent explorer from spawning as shell if you try to use it as a file manager. I know because Omar's installer does this right, but following the shell change -instructions is not enough.
