Ive found that litesetp doesn not allow the active desktop built in to windows xp to run animated wallpapers any help or ideas based on this ive recently discovered that i can run small avi files and mpg files as my desktop background any ideas on how to get this working with in the litestep shell enviorment
i would also like to add that these animated backgrounds i have made and have do run in windows xp without the litestep shell
Active desktop is part of explorer. You're out of luck AFAIK. Why you would want an animated background is beyond me though.
more specifically, active desktop is a part of the explorer shell. remember in windows 98 internet explorer was integrated with the shell? well, i guess that carried over.
EDIT: jpr1nd beat me to the punch. anyhow, some animations are nice; i remember one in particular: a flash animation. lineart representing nature with plants waving in the breeze with insects flying about. sort of soothing if not monochrome.
well...you can still use websites as your background thanks to Oborzevatel. but it only does websites, not animated images.
well thanx for the info on that anyway my question was answered
web pages as a background could have moving images tho
Have you tried Drempels from:
