LiteStep acting weird on resolution change Thread last updated on 2004-07-16 14:58:50

Hi,

I developed my own theme and it's working really fine, but I have some issues with it. Whenever my resolution changes (for example, when I start a game) then bits & parts of my theme appear (usually my popupmenu) on a black background and generally delay the startup of the application immensely. It's not THAT annoying, but since I'm pimping LS to anyone I know i need to make a good impression ;)

What I know for sure:

1) Only happens on my pc - not on others (problem isn't there if i copy my litestep installation on another pc and run it from there - doesn't seem theme-related)
2) It IS Litestep-related, since it doesn't happen if I work in Explorer (not that i do, voluntarily)
3) I don't think it's a videocard/driverissue. I recently got rid of my aging Geforce and installed a Radeon X800 - entirely different manufacturer and drivers.
4) I use Jdesk, but have AutoRecycleOnRezChange disabled
5) Problem is STILL there after a format / reinstall of Windows XP SP1

Does anyone have similar issues and know what to do about it?

Set a hotkey for !togglemodules. It's better about it now, but LS still doesn't work quite right all the time with fullscreen applications.

As far as the video card, it is partly an issue. I had a radeon 9600 XT, and the slowdown from modules still displaying was far worse than w/ my FX 5900. All drivers, but still something to know.

Hmm, the popup menu shouldn't be showing up after you start it up, that's odd. Try using some other themes or do a toggle to hide all the modules before you start it up.

Does it happen with all games or just some?
