Maybe what I say is stupid, and if such is the case well, shoot me but, since so many newbees ask basicaly the same questions:
- Where do I dl LiteStep?
- How do I make it work?
- How can I change my theme?
- and so on,
and since mojomonkee has written down a really good introduction to LS, and since the "Docs" section is empty (now), why not put monjomonkee's user manual there, with a small FAQ chapter? I don't say it would solve the problem, but it would surely deflaten the enourmous amount of basic questions (and I don't have any contempt for basic questions :));
OK, don't hit me, I was just trying to help :)
Sounds good to me. Then I'd put a large link to the docs on the forum page as well (either right above the forum or as an always-on-top thread if possible). The harder it is to miss the better :-) ...
If one more person says something that I have explained 30 million other times I will instantly remove that person from the site. If you all can not read, what is the point of me answering?
For the last time...
THERE IS NO WAY TO CURRENTLY DO STICKY THREADS AND I WILL NOT PERMIT USERS TO BUMP THREADS. WE ARE WORKING ON THE FORUMS SECTION AND IT WILL BE DONE WHEN IT IS DONE.
As for the Docs section, there is some code behind the scenes that is being worked on. However, it is slow as life always seems to get in the way. If any PHP Programmer has high level XML knowledge and experience I will be happy to have the help. But I will not be moving the Tutorial. If users can't read it on the front page, what makes anyone believe they will dig for it elseware?
Sorry DeViLbOi, didn't mean to step on anyone's toes there.
Maybe somebody could create some sort of 'Worm' code, that would be included with the next release of LS and searches out the users \theme archive and counts the number of themes.
If they have so many themes...say 1 (Simplicity) then they would be mauled with LSdoc popups whenever they speak, or are not permitted to post threads with 'bad' words, like: "Where do I actually Download LS anyway?"
If they have more themes, say 8 then they would be freed, and undergo the ritual's for "good luck and happy Alt-Shelling"
by the way im not serious.
Maybe someone should put up a tutorial teaching people to read the docs first :)
BTW a tutorial to teach people how to read this forum should be usefull too. At least the News page :)
