Is there a way to get the site to notify authors Thread last updated on 2005-10-26 17:45:16

When I submit something, is there a way for me to get notified when a comment is made about my submission(or reply to forum post, I know I can open the thread and subscribe to it and I admit I have never done that). I wanted to know if there was a way to make it so it automaticly notifies when I am the author(other than email notification).

all notifications for the site are done via email and you would just need to subscribe to the thread.

yah, right now all notifications are done solely by subscribing to the thread. Some people may find it annoying getting email automatically each time they start a thread, so, you are left with the option of subscription.

In that case, is there a way to subscribe to submissions?

submissions? You mean theme/ screenshots/ downloads etc? While I can appriciate the "neato" factor of the idea, it doesn't really go beyond that. So, a couple/few points:

1. This is a website, you browse it. Revive xsweekly if you want a newsletter.

2. If you want to volunteer to compile said newsletter for litestep based submissions, please let us know; we've tossed that idea around before.

3. The more mailings (and other features) the server has to do the more our server/bw requirements go up. Last time we asked for help with upgrading the server, we got two replies. One simply fell through, the second wanted to know what he would get out of it... hmmm, let's think about that one. heh.

4. Did I mention this is a website which was made to browse and enjoy over a cup of coffee in the morning? :)

I know this is a mega old thread, but:

Is #3 still valid? (Just checking) It would be handy to be able to subscribe to themes, then I wouldnt get disapointed everytime I check in ;)

Just an idea though.

Please dont yell :)

theme subscription simply doesn't exist right now and would be in the next version of the site. But, when would that be? you asked, and the answer is, whenever it's finished, and even that, only God knows.
