Task question Thread last updated on 2004-07-12 11:32:34

I'd like to create a taskbar which does not contain any text, only icons, except for when a task is selected and then it displays the text for that particular task.

Id like the tasks to have a small width so as to show the icon, but when it is selected it is resized wider to show the text for the task.

First of all, is this possible?
If so which module can do this?
Is it possible with a few simple commands (i wish!) or is it a matter of clever coding!

Thanks

nope, don't think so. i wanted this before.
the task module would need to support per-state geometry.
that could be cool. group normal/active w/ big icons, active having text, group minimized w/ small icons. hrm.

the closest other thing you can do is a thicker bar, sort of how the standard alt+tab dialog looks; have row of iconic tasks lining a horizontal screen edge and a label on the other side whose text is the active task.

i had kinda got it working in xtaskbar, id got just the text on the active task, but i couldnt get them to resize when active.
They wer either big all time, or small all time!!

you've to create 2 taskbars, one with only selected, and one with all others (2 in a raw).
