Editing .dll files? Thread last updated on 2004-07-01 12:17:42

I had installed LiteStep about a year and a half ago, ran it for about 3 months, then uninstalled it because I was unable to see or access most of my icons in the system tray.

While I found the solution to be simple enough in idea, changing the boolian variable in the systray2.dll file from false to true to allow the system tray to resize, I can't find anything that will allow me edit the file, or even view it.

Help please. I'll be back later on this evening to check back. Free programs appreciated!

you cant edit dll files, you have to modify the .rc files

Thanks for the help guys, but after waiting and searching for my threads here for a week, and seeing them keep disapeering, I gave up and uninstalled it. I will make a note of it however, in the event I reinstall later.

I thought the dll files were to be edited because 1) it is possile to hack them, and 2) the html files listed under litestep > docs say to edit the dlls, not the rc files.

Now... why is it the forum sends an email saying the thread has a reply, but the link they send takes you to the log in over and over again, never to th thread? Makes it darn hard to find the thread when it's been moved, and frustrating to think that someone is just removing your threads. :(

You have to login each time you view the site. You can't get to the forums till you login so that's why the link takes you there. Once you're logged in, try clicking the link again.

I did.... several times, and it just kept looping me back to the log in page.

What I ended up doing was going to forums, which showed as section 4 in the URL, then moving my mouse over the sections until I can to ID 3.

And yes, I am cookied. I haven't had to log in to eBay in months...lol.

Which docs say to edit the dlls? Any that do need to be fixed...

The ones that tell you how to make changes.. I couldn't tell you without reinstalling it though. Also keep in mind I downloaded this copy about a year and a half to two years ago.
