%systemroot% or file associations not working? Thread last updated on 2004-06-17 05:41:13

Hi,
I am a newbie to litestep (installed it onto Windows 2k a day ago using Omar's installer, added some modules and switched to the Longhorn theme). There seems to be a problem with the path variables (e.g. %systemroot%) and / or file associations. If I try to open a config file for example, notepad should be started, instead a message a given that notepad was not found on D:\ (it is in D:\WINNT\system32 and works fine using the explorer as shell).
Photoedit (the little program that comes with Office) also gives errors about file associations not found and claims that paths where I try to load pictures from are not there.

Is it perhaps necessary to set the path variables somewhere in litestep (I already set the "environment variables", like notepad being in %systemroot%/system32/notepad.exe)?

Sorry if this topic has already been discussed, but the forum search doesn't work.

I'm not sure if this is what you need or not, but check out $Litestepdir$\utilities\evarconfig.exe

How exactly do you try to open those files? Via popup, ie. !DynamicFolder? Or from a file manager? From a shortcut? ... If it's an LS module, paste the relevant configuration line(s).
