I was wondering if this or another program could help me edit the login and shutdown screens on XP Home. I know there is a bunch of programs that just change it and have to be running for them to work. I want to get in there and actually change it myself. So its like that everytime my pc loads and logs off. I dont want a program running that will eat my ram.

well, I believe that's the only way to do it. with a program like bootskin or something.

I used BootXP (http://www.bootxp.net/), I'm sure there must be several other similar programs but they shouldn't have to be running other than when you're doing the actual changing of the images.

well, I don't believe you're just "changing the images", which is why they need to run at least during logon/shutdown. but hey, what do I know.
