Cannot find '/e, "..."' Thread last updated on 2004-06-14 15:09:42

It seems when Litestep (for multiple shells tested) tries to open up a file manager window, I allways get the following error:

Windows cannot find '/e, "c:\path I'm trying to open\"'.

Then, explorer.exe tries to wrest control back from litestep on my XP machine. CTRL+ALT+DEL ing explorer.exe gets everything running properly again.

And alas search feature seems to be down or I would have checked that... and a quick google didn't turn up anything either. Maybe I'm just checking the wrong strings...

Any advice appreciated :-).

How are you opening up the file manager? From the popup? From the run box?

Popup.

Sounds like you didn't install Litestep correctly, and thus the registry entries were not set. Basically Explorer still thinks it should be the shell, and so tries to run as a shell instead of a file manager every time you launch it. Read up on the threads regarding installing Litestep.

Also try using system DDE instead of litestep's DDEService
