making foobar work in litestep themes Thread last updated on 2004-05-28 23:43:18

Hey.
sorry for being such a dumbass n00b about this, but I've read and searched and can't seem to find an answer..
I'm loving litestep as a replacement shell and am particularly enamoured with the minimal type themes; Blackbox, Wet, Monster to name a few.
I prefer using foobar 0.8 as my default audio player, but I can't seem to get any of the controls in the above themes to do anymore than either open foobar or change volume-I can't use the theme controls to make foobar play/pause or any of the other basics.
I'm sure I'm possibly missing sth really obvious but if someone gives me a l'il nudge in the right direction I'd be super grateful; I'm no programmer, but I'm not afraid to 'tinker' w/ the right directions.
Thanks a lot in advance. :B

you could install the foo_spam component in foobar.

sryo means foo_winamp_spam

if you use foo_winamp_spam, you could use geekamp. i guess dynamp should work too, as long as it still sends the messages to winamp.

the latest dynamp supposedly supports fb2k.

You can use foobar's command-line arguments like this:
"$foobarpath$" /?
"$foobarpath$" /playpause
"$foobarpath$" /exit
"$foobarpath$" /prev
"$foobarpath$" /next
"$foobarpath$" /command:Playback/"Seek ahead by 5 seconds"
"$foobarpath$" /command:Playback/"Seek back by 5 seconds"
"$foobarpath$" /command:Components/"Album list"

and so on...

Thanks for all the great advice, y'all; For my purposes, foo_winamp_spam ended up being exactly what I needed-works great!!

Cheers.
