There is an old module called:remote-1.02 by Aspheron.

It claims that well on those times it could control the next,play......etc functions of media player,mp3players,browser,pretty much anything, it just required some code id from the programs to be controled.
and goes ahead and gives the codes for the players of that era.
I wonder if todays aplications still call those functions with codes and if so, if somebody care to take look at the source and see if an update could be made, I have seen plenty of requests for something like that.
What follows is an extract from the readme,just to give an idea of what it claim to do:It says to control other application you just needed to get the codes.

Are you asking for the current 'codes' to the players you listed, or do you want them for some other player? The best way to find out what those 'codes' are is to follow the specific player's support channels, and ask there.

Well so you think the module could still work with the right codes if thats the case cool, ill try to get them and load an see what happens, I'll be looking for a media player9,quicktime,firefox navigation, explorer navegation.as soon as I find any of those ill load the module an post.

Ok,the message codes can be obtained with winspector spy,I downloaded it but my pc is to old and winspector is to heavy for my pc.(I just lost my sound trying to get mediaplayer9 messaje codes) you have to select in options show message numbers.
Maybe someone with a regular pc can help from here( im gonna try to get my sound back.)

I think the module SendMessage by luthe does the same sort of thing.

If any of these two modules stil run, I would like to use them with literunner and kidnap and "make my own players" that could be cool.
Well I still cant try the modules cause the tool needed to find the messaje codes (winspector spy)crashes my system.
If somebody could post any message codes for any of the newer players I would gladly try this modules (make a bug report).and maybe one of LS great coders could find interesting to update them.

You could always make your own player using grdAmp...cuz its the bombdigity
