and is there any way to salvage any of the rc files iif it does happen>

i was in the middle of editing a bmp for my popup when litestep crashed.

since then my popup menu has been acting oddly, the background colour on all entries don't show correctly til i mouse over them.

i reset the pc in case it was a temporary glitch but when i restarted that only made thigs worse, litestep just hanged and i had to kill it from the task manager and revert to default theme just to get it running.

it seems like something has gone wrong with this one theme.

i tried renaming things and moving them to a different folder but no luck so far.

is there anything that might help me salvage my work?
i realise i havent given much specifics, its late and im about to go bed but i can post them in the morning if it will be any help

Litestep doesn't really have functionality to edit either the rc files or the BMP images you use in the theme, so either you should yourself have an idea what happened (TextEdit and complex configuration issues?) or then the cause is something really weird.

If you figure out what happened, post it. I'm interested.

Do you use xLabel with solidcolors ?

i woke up this morning and had another look and realised straight away that the problem was with the bitmap.
that had got corrupted during the crash and of course litestep would have problems trying to load a corrupted bmp.
looking at it with a fresh pair of eyes helped (as usual)

it is curious though cos, as you say warma, i dont know what could have happened to corrupt the bmp.
i cant remember exactly what i was doing at the precise moment litestep crashed but i use paintshop and that normally works perfetly well without either litestep or windows explorer.

i guess it was just some random one in a million thing
