never heard of systray.exe and I know for sure it is not what explorer uses for the system tray service.

i used to kill systray.exe in windows.. it doesn't appear to do anything in litestep; i think it's responsible for some things such as the keyboard language systray icon thing. or so i remember years ago when googling about it.

language indicator's icon is generated by internat.exe, not systray.exe!

Well DeVilboi you know you are wrong cause SysTray.exe aka SystemTray is what win98 uses for system tray service (remember the little speaker and icons on the side, well when you run explorer as shell without Systray.exe you dont get those)
im pretty sure your wernt always running XP.
Now if you ment:I just dont want to help you.
That can easily be understood by reading some of your posts.
now on the other side you make this site available, so I just dont get it.
anyway my question stil stands.

Tolzen: systray.exe also is present in xp, and it's also used for: battery meter, pccard, quickres icon, task schedule, printer status, exchange/outlook and some more, but if you can see this icons without it, then there's no problem disabling it (i disbaled it here years ago)

Tolzen: and if you would have read correctly I am the head admin here and you are pissing off the wrong man. Now..for your information I do work in an office with 20 98 machines at my disposal and not a single one of them had systray.exe running...so...with that said...quit talking out of your ass.

The company I work for uses older 98 laptops for field reps to keep costs down when they are stolen or damaged. 98 does what they need and it only costs us a couple hundred bux for a new one.
