Resolution changes when closing laptop Thread last updated on 2004-05-04 03:28:56

I have a small problem with litestep, it happens to all themes i have tried so far. I don't have this problem with the normal windows XP explorer environment.

When I close my laptop the resolution of my desktop changes to 1024x768. The native resolution of my laptop is 1400x1050 so that's the resolution I normally use.

It's really annoying to change the resolution every time. Is there a way to prevent this? ... If not, is there a way to create a button to change the resolution back to 1400x1050 with 1 button?

Do you have any special software running that deals with your laptop's standby/sleep mode? LiteStep should have nothing to do with this, and AFAIK, nothing in LS allows you to change resolutions.

As far as I know I don't have that kind of software running. I also thought it had nothing to do with LS but when I switch to normal windows explorer environment the problem is gone.

It doesn't happen when i put the laptop into standby, restart or hibernation. It only happens when I close the screen.

you can use razrez.dll and a hotkey.

Do you have an external monitor hooked up (I assume so, otherwise how'd you know the res changed. :)

What video chipset? If its ATI, what happens if you set things up how you want it when the laptop is closed, then save the scheme, which then hopefully will stick.

I'd guess though that some util isn't being run under LS that is run under Explorer that would normally prevent this action from taking place. Just a guess.

I don't have an external monitor hooked up .. The resolution is changed when I open up the laptop again.

The video chipset is Geforce Go FX.

I'll look at razrez.dll now ... thnx for helping so far :)
