Hide Tooltips...?? Thread last updated on 2004-05-01 12:24:22

I know it seems kinda goofy... but... I am using icondesk0.67 and have been trying to start a theme. Finally got it so that it will replace my desktop icons with another specified folders icons. (ie $QuickLaunch$ or $WinDir$). The problem is that when I leave the mouse on a part where one of the icons would be (on one of the other IconGroups.... It displays the tooltip. I was wondering if anyone has done something like this and knows something on how to keep them from showin up. Here is a snippet to see if this helps things, and a screenshot just to show ya in case I cant explain it.

one obvious fix is to turn tooltips off ...

Hmmmm..... Never thought about that. Guess I dont really need 'em. Just still trying to wonder why it would show through like that. Maybe if instead of
!IconDeskHide Button3

I used..

!IconDeskButton3Visible false


Thanks for the idea regardless. Think I might just do that since they are kinda....pointless.

you could contact the author of the icondesk module and report this behavior. That is the most direct way to getting the issue fixed. And just in case you were going to ask, look in the readme for contact info.

Havent seen a .68... Swear I just looked at shellfront, thought that was a pretty definative listing. Such is life! And Jugg, as far as contacting the author, I knew where to look. I know I have seen alot of threads on here of people asking things as simple as contact info, and what not. I do my damndest to find out the answer before I come on here. I just dont know if this is a problem with IconDesk, or just the way it was made. Regardless, thank you all for the ideas, and I think I will go check on .68 AND write an email.

Thanks ilmcuts, found it last night. But to no avail, it still is causing the tooltips to show through on hidden icons. And I tried the !IconDeskButton3Visible false instead of the IconDeskHide Button3 , and it didnt work either. Is currently awaiting an email back from Sci. Thank you
