Hello LiteSteppers!

I am having a problem with my mouse.
SETUP:
1) Dual monitor system
2) Brand new Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse. - PS/2
3) Theme = default

PROBLEM:
Mouse jumps around. It will be usabel and movable without any problems at all, than all of a sudden it will end up in the far left corners or far right corners of my screen.

QUESTION:
Anyone know what is causing this and how to fix it?

TROUBLESHOOTING ATTEMPTS:
Just basic stuff I have already tried.
1) Rebooted system
2) Adjust mouse settings
3) Checked for mouse drive updates (good)
4) reseated the PS/2 connection.

change the battery :)

a used to have an optical mouse (logitech dual optical) which jumped around sometimes, it was a hardware defect.

Move the receiver away from electrical devices...

Optical mice also jump around a lot if used on hologrammed mouse pads...

(not that that's helpful or anything...)

I forgot to mention that this mouse is not wireless, but I am using a hologrammed mouse pad. I am such a dork, I totaly missed that, I know that, totally slipped me pee brain.
