Installing Litestep Problem Thread last updated on 2004-04-26 04:44:44

I used to be running litestep in win98, and recently decided to install it in XP Pro aswell.

I tried using the installer I had, and for some reason the popup2 module wasn't working with the old theme I've been using for ages, hence I had no access to my start menu etc.

I tried running the litestep.exe within my specific theme folder, which seemed to load and run perfectly. Therefore I tried installing litestep manually via changing the shell in the HKey_Local_Machine/Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/Current Version/Shell

This however didn't work, and explorer kept starting up instead. I'd appreciate it if anyone could provide me with any suggestions to get litestep starting up automatically, or fix the popup2 problem I'm having.

Thanks

Ian W

Ok, I've just read the "personal.rc" problem in one of the sticky posts (which makes me feel kinda stupid for asking about that), however I'd still like to be able to just run litestep using the exe, and not having to install if possible like I used to.... which still involves getting this exe to run automatically as the shell

Use SetShell.exe
