OK I know the old disable the Theme service and you get the classic explorer look on logon prompt as opposed to the blue fisher price, but face it they are both ugly.

I tried everything to replace the luna theme with an other theme and rename it, I also replaced the shellstyle.dll with the one of a different theme but to no avail somehow xp still went blue on logon prompt.

Has anyone figured it out to have a different theme be the default one before youloging to your account?

you can set a wallpaper for the login in the registry -

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop

and modify the value of Wallpaper to point to the required picture, eg c:\pics\wall.jpg

buddy I don't mean the logon where you see user names that you can download at wincustomize. I am talking about the logon dialog box that comes up when you turn off the welcome screen.

as for the wallpaper login thing its taken care of with xteq xsetup

I don't think you can change the ctl-alt-del box. It is loaded before things like visual styles are. Once you login, the visual style is applied.
