Hey guys, I havent started using litestep yet but i am considering it. I have a couple of questions that i would like to know about this shell.

1. Does it load overtop of the default shell or replace it.
2. comparative to the default windows shell, how much system resources does it use.
3. who came up with this awsome idea.

im a linux user that loves fluxbox, so i was immediatly drawn into this thing.

thanks

yup...explorer doesn't load at all...until you tell it you want it to be a file manager...or load up IE or any other intertwined M$ app. There are replacements out there for all of them though...so start steppin f00

If you want to talk numbers, all be it incorrect numbers. If you open up task manager and look at your allocated memory your explorer should be around 8 - 10 meg. My LS install is currently around 6 and dropping fast. I would expect it to be around 2 by the end of the week. And I do have a SS of explorer on my machine running at around 78M so...it is always smaller. :p

as I told you in that post its all about the modules you load. load a bad module...eat the memory.
