hello - newbie here :)

I am interested in learning/using litestep. I have used other shells and one thing that has always annoyed me is the inability to actually use the desktop.

Whenever I dl a file, I usually just dump it onto the desktop and then organize. Sometimes I'll open up notepad and save it to the desktop (using explorer.exe) & then open easily open right there.

Seems as though explorer.exe alternatives are unable to use the desktop in this fashion because all files must be placed into a folder.

Is litestep the same way?

Thanks everyone!

Well...the Desktop is actually a folder so it can be used in that fashion. The only thing from the explorer desktop you will really miss is the ability to drag and drop icons.

actually now there's xdesktop, which mimics explorer desktop quite nicely.
