are there any modulus to control iTunes? I prefer it to winamp by far for its much better automated organizing, searching, and a host of other things, but it sucks that theres no way (that i know of) to control it from litestep....is it even possible?

i want this feature too... took me a really long time to decide that iTunes was better than Winamp 2.X and now that i've got litestep back on my computer I want to use it with LS.

But yeh, itunes as thrash says is just better at managing 1000's of songs.

there is only one thing to control iTunes - VisualBasic scripts. You must set this scripts to any button as application to run. http://www.litestep.bip.ru/download/antonovka.zip written by Seg@.

Does somebody has that script on the computer ? The link to the script here, is dead...

You could also use the iTunes widget in Kapsules - or just download it and look at the scripting and make your own, tying the actions to LS shortcuts, etc.

thought i'd resurrect this thread instead of troubling people with a new one....
i'm using iTunes with the Nonstep theme and I've got the play pause buttons etc. working but i'm having trouble with the module itunesstat-0.2 ... it's entered in the theme.rc as a net load module... or with that info anyway... so that's done properly and i've found the string in the bar which controls the text of where i want the info to go.... but i can't get it to work... it's just coming up with the literal text not what it's supposed to show. here is what is in the "top.rc" file....

*Label ampSongLabel
;Label Main Settings
ampSongLabelAddToGroup "Taskbar"
ampSongLabelX "-464"
ampSongLabelY "23"
ampSongLabelWidth "189"
ampSongLabelHeight "17"
ampSongLabelImage "geekampBG.png"
ampSongLabelImageLeftEdge "1"
;Label Text Settings
ampSongLabelText "iTunesActiveLabel "
ampSongLabelFontAlign "left"
ampSongLabelLeftBorder "7"
ampSongLabelRightBorder "6"
ampSongLabelScroll [horizontal]
ampSongLabelScrollSpeed "2"
;Event Settings
ampSongLabelOnLeftClickDown !amp_playlist
ampSongLabelOnRightClickDown !amp_eq

the line in bold is the one needing change... but i've tried quite a few things and nothing works... any help is greatly appreciated.... Stingray--->

Try:
ampSongLabelText "%track_name"

That's in the readme, but I think you misunderstood it.

Btw, this should have been a new thread. Rezzing dead threads makes DeV unhappy.

so for those of us to don't understand all the stuff on this page yet (like me), is there anything I can do to make the LS buttons control itunes instead of that crappy winamp?

Uh oh... I smell a thread locking inc.

Mike, go to the modules forum, and do a search for "itunes." Your answer is there.

What's broken? If you say the search is, I have to direct you to this: here
Then go to the module forums and do that search.

i still can't get the module to work... have tried substituing like you said but it just comes up blank... perhaps the new iTunes (5) doesn't have the same outputs?

Posted by member 248213 on 2005-09-24 05:02:16 link

You can answer that yourself by checking if the modules work with "a" older version ;)

somehow i don't think iTunes would take to kindly to backdating itself... i was more inquiring as to if anyone here had actually noticed a difference between 4 and 5.

there are no previous versions of iTunes available? I find that hard to beleive, but I have never used it so there might be somethhing wack that Apple is doing...
