hey,i just downloaded again, and so i figure nothing should be currupt and i downloaded themes from this sight, and they still dont work , and i extract to the right spot.....could it be i need to download OTS distros or whatever??? plz i need help!!

Do you have the latest litestep and what distros do you have? Are you using lsts or manually installing your themes?
