Sound controls (on laptop) don't work when using LiteStep Thread last updated on 2004-03-08 22:56:20

I just noticed after installing LiteStep that the buttons that control the volume and mute on my laptop/keyboard don't work when using LiteStep. I checked to see if it didn't work at all, so I tested it on the default Windows shell as well, but it worked fine there.

Is there anything that LiteStep does so it doesn't load drivers or whatnot that control the volume controls?

I had the same problem with a Compaq laptop. It has something to do with the way Windows recognizes the command that comes when you press the buttons. Explorer recognizes it but LS doesn't. I was able to get them working by mapping them to a hotkey. I'll see if I can remember how I did it. If not someone else here should know.

Heh, should of looked further in the forum: http://www.litestep.net/index.php?section=4&action=view&catId=1&id=3238
