Is there a way I can lock my computer using hotkeys so I don't have to press ctrl+alt+del and then click lock computer?
I just realized how extremely pathetic that sounds, but I've got to know.
I'm running Windows 2000 if it matters.
There was a module written for NT for this a long time ago...dunno if it works in 2K but it is worth a shot.
Update: Well in 10 seconds I was able to find one on the net so I am going to say yes and that you need to do some looking around. *rips his hair out*
*hotkey WIN+CTRL L RUNDLL32.exe USER32.DLL,LockWorkStation
*hotkey WIN+CTRL L !switchuser
Despite its name it locks the computer. It's the equivalent of the old !lockpc. If you have FUS enabled (well if you're running 2K you can't) it displays the login screen.
ive never used 2k but in xp you can hit win+l and it locks the computer
if this doesnt apply for 2k then im sorry i wasted your time lol
cool, thanks guys. i used ilmcuts suggestion and it works fine.
