I can't get the bottom bar to get bigger. It's too small to read.

I also used the enable desktop icons but when the plugin downloaded, the icons are on the bottom instead of on the left on top of each other. Can I fix this?

and no...you can't grow the bar without rewriting the theme...but yes you can get the icons to move by editing their configuration.
