Okay, let me start by saying that I'm sorry that i'm using windows 98, and if this is the inherent problem with what I'm doing then I suppose i will get 2k, but for the time being...

My parents and i use the same PC right now (I hate my life :-P) and they are for all practical purposes PC stupid. They can't understand litestep for shit. I have different users set up for different desktops and shit. What I need to do is make it so the litestep kernel loads when i log on and the explorer kernel loads when they log on. Any help would be fabulous.

Can't be done on 98 without a shell manager explained in another post made by someone else earlier in the week. Win98 does not actually support multiple users and the shell is loaded pre-login anyways. So go download shellON, carapace or LiteSpawn and be done with it.

I'd like to thank you - shellON works fabulously. there is only 1 minor bug which i can definitly deal with (when i use litestep shellON is on my taskmanger bar thingamajig without removal). thanks again - made my life so much easier.

Just have shellON quit after the shell loads.

that works about 50% of the time - when i quit it a blank box is left in its place and never goes away - it's no biggie

hrmmm...if I remeber right there used to be an option to have it go to the SystemTray instead of the taskbar. Other option would be to setup LS to ignore it. Let your parents deal with it. :) Maybe it will be something to bring them over to the "Lite" side.
