Problems with Winamp 5 Thread last updated on 2004-02-25 06:18:49

I recently installed Litestep with a couple of themes and everything works fine, except for one small thing.
If I have Winamp 5.02 running and then I press a button to minimize the entire desktop, Winamp looks like it has crashed (skin is all funny), still plays the music and locks up my entire system by completely occupying my processor. It won't close unless I use the task manager.

This problem doesn't occur with winamp 2, only with 5.

I also tried winamp 5.00 with the litestep compatibility stuff activated but that didn't change anything.

I am running win2k on a 1.5GHz Athlon and 768 megs of ram.

I'd very much appreciate any suggestions on solving this problem. Thanks.

I don't think there is a solution. As far as I know the LiteStep Compatibility feature doesn't work at all (and when I've used it it crashed WinAmp). I suspect we will either have to wait for a new LS version or a new WinAmp version.

What theme are you using? I'm using WinAMP 5 w/out any problems.

Don't forget the compatability isn't in LiteStep; it's in the module that's used to control WinAMP. geekamp, as far as I know, is the only module that's compatable correctly with WinAMP5.

I'm using non|step with geekamp 1.9.71 w/out any problems. Even when using the min/max all function.
