I'm installing LiteStep on a school computer, and the computer accesses a Novell network. Will everything work OK, or should I download something special to make this work? Sorry if this has already been posted, I looked and didn't see anything.

Of course it will be ok. LiteStep is just a shell replacement and will not have any impact on the network.
