Just downloaded LiteStep today and it is causing some problems. I'm not sure exactly what is going on but it seems I'm stuck in between litestep and explorer. I see the basic LiteStep things such as the taskbar, but when I right click on a file I get the normal windows bar (but if I right click elsewhere I get LiteStep's). Also, whenever I save a file to the desktop, it doesn't appear, but when I load explorer, there the file is on the explorer desktop but not litestep's. On top of it all, I have the litestep on both desktops and neither will let me delete it (error Access is denied: Source File may be in use). I've tried just about anything and you are my last hope.

LiteStep theme Austerity I think shows the desktop. You are supposed to get the windows right click everywhere except litestep modules(desktop, taskbar, systray, whatever other modules you have). The desktop support for LiteStep is a far cry from that of Explorer, so if you miss that, I think icondesk(a litestep module) has a lot of the functionality of explorer's desktop. To delete it, you'd have to first make sure it is not running, so.. in XP, which I will be assume you are using, hit ctrl-shift-escape and endtask litestep.exe then go to file-New Task(run...) and launch explorer and you can have access to the ls files from there after a reboot(I think reboot is needed)

With the explorer taskbar showing up... does that only happen after you've opened a file manager window? You might be running into a common problem, where using explorer as the file manager ends up causing it to start up as the shell, too. When you right-click on a file it can cause the explorer taskbar to come on top of LiteStep interface parts (lsboxes, taskbar, etc.) and that may be what you're seeing. Check the "IMPORTANT" sticky thread in this forum and see if any of those tips help.

As for files that you save to the desktop showing up under explorer but not LiteStep, that's normal. The desktop that you see under explorer is actually a file folder, so it will show those files. The desktop under LiteStep isn't, so it doesn't.

The problem with not being able to delete the file is a different problem altogether, tho. My advice would be to either boot into safe mode and see if you can delete it that way, or get the MoveOnBoot program from here:

http://www.gibinsoft.net/gipoutils/index.htm

Once you've installed that, use it to delete the file on the next boot. That should let you get around the problem. It's not really something that's related to either LiteStep or explorer. It just seems to happen sometimes with Windows. :(

You aren't running LS ontop of Explorer or are you?
