from the time i installed litestep as my shell, when i put a cd in the tray that would normally autorun with explorer.....doesn't .How can i remedy this?

If I remember correctly there's a module called "autorun" which should take care of this.

Ah, sorry to jump ship here, but since when doesn't autoplay work anyway? I have never had to touch it in ls, and in fact always forget it and have to figure out the proper way to disable it after every format.

i dont have any trouble with autoplay either ... u might try using TweakUI from the M$ PowerToys to fix your problem ...
