Alright, im sure you've probably heard this one before and hopefully can provide me with a quick answer.. I installed litestep on C:\(windows is on D) and i restarted. Good, the simplicity theme loads fine. Once i change the theme to any other one however, i get my desktop color and absolutly nothing else(except for the programs that run on startup). I found some really cool themes and i am anxious to try them out, thanks in advance for your help

Sounds like they're not OTS themes, I downloaded a lot of themes and the ones that are OTS work ok and the ones that aren't don't display anything at all, sounds like what you have

When you go into the theme switcher, hold the arrow/cursor over the theme you're trying to use...if no picture pops up in the preview window, it's not an OTS one (at least that's my guess with the problems I had)...the ones that have a preview shot work ok for me and the ones that don't have a preview don't work at all.

The problem is most likely that those themes don't come with a .thm file. It's a bug in the theme switcher (LSTS), you need to edit your $litestepdir$step.rc and then recycle for such themes to work.

Yes, that's very likely. If you're using LSTS, click on the Settings (?) button and fix the typo on the "Step" line.
