Has anyone found or created a good module to allow the moving of icons on the desktop. or for that matter the deletion/addition of desktop icons. I have placed modules in the step.rc (ie show desktop) so I am familiar with the way the file is written but trust me I am still very inexperienced at this Ls(1 day old)
You can not drag and drop icons to move them around because of how the information is pulled. However, you can add and delete icons on the desktop. How quickly they show up depends on your current setup.
Is it foreseen that there will ever be support for moving icons around on the desktop, or is it possible under the current APIs to create a module that will allow for this feature?
well, you can move icons in the windows longhorn theme.
this is an old thread. There is now a module which supports it: xdesktop.
Great where can I download the xdesktop module? I can't seem to find it.
