I've installed it on my computer
running Windows2000 Pro...

it has been crashfree but i only have one small problem...
everyone knows the UniverseMetal-theme?

Well, on the left, you have the dock-bar...
between the Swap-meter and the Web-icon (that start IExplorer) there is a large black space where normally you can see the programs you have started up :)
well, i don't :(
they seem to hide under the dock-bar...

Can anyone help me?

would be very much appreciated!

greetz!

PS: i'm rather new to LiteStep so i'm still trying to find my way :) have mercy ;)

Hey,
I've had the same problem also on Win2K Pro! I don't know how to fix it but also each time I recycle, my wallpaper disappears!?! It makes me want to cry because I absolutely love the theme but don't know how to fix it. When I find a fix, you bet I'll share. :)

i tried !tasksshow and !taskshide commands
also !taskszorder ontop
but nothing works!!

i'm relieved i'm not the only one with the problem...
:)

i'll look further into the matter myself
and if i find a solution, i'll post it here ;)

I have found somewhat of a workaround...
but i guess this works only when having resolution of 1280x1024...

just make sure that in the scripts.rc of the theme,
that the script !dockSliderOut looks like this:

*Script bang !dockSliderOut
*Script exec !ifeq dockOpen "false" '|PlaySlide'
*Script exec !ifEval ("$ResolutionX$"

oops the TasksAlwaysOnTop "all"
was added by me, I took the "all" out just trying out things

Posted by member 109427 on 2004-02-11 04:56:41 link

crap... added wrong things!
retry!
just make sure that in the scripts.rc of the theme,
that the script !dockSliderOut has the following lines:

*Script exec !TasksShow
*Script exec !TasksDockWindow ".none"
*Script exec !TaskszOrder ontop
*Script exec !TasksMove 0,410

Posted by member 109427 on 2004-02-12 02:41:29 link

*script bang !WallDefault
*script exec !TextReplace "$themedir$Theme.rc" "^\*Script start !wallpaper" "*Script start !wallpaper .stretch \#WallpaperPath\#UniverseMetaLS.jpg"
*script exec !wallpaper .stretch "$WallpaperPath$UniverseMetaLS.jpg"
*script ~bang

change "UniverseMetalS.jpg" by the file you want to be your wallpaper...
make sure that file is in the same folder as the "UniverseMetalS.jpg"

this should do the trick for you LadySmith!

*Script bang !dockSliderOut
*Script exec !ifeq dockOpen "false" '|PlaySlide'
*Script exec !ifEval ("$ResolutionX$"

*Script bang !dockSliderOut
*Script exec !ifeq dockOpen "false" '|PlaySlide'
*Script exec !ifEval ("$ResolutionX$"

I added
*Script exec !TasksShow
*Script exec !TasksDockWindow ".none"
*Script exec !TaskszOrder ontop
*Script exec !TasksMove 0,410
and it worked

now any idea how to get the "apps" "internet" etc... buttons to works
I have tired so many "applications" folsers, but noe seem to work

Posted by member 112344 on 2004-02-12 12:38:30 link

got it working i edited the themepopup.rc file under
C:\LiteStep\themes\UniverseMetaLS\Config (my install)

;=============================================================================
; .:[ shortcut bar popup menus ]:.
;=============================================================================
*bPopup "Apps" !new !PopApps "!PopupFolder:c:\apps"
*bPopup "Internet" !new !PopInternet "!PopupFolder:$CommonPrograms$internet|$Programs$internet"
*bPopup "Graphics" !new !PopGraphics "!PopupFolder:$CommonPrograms$graphics|$Programs$graphics"
*bPopup "Tools" !new !PopTools "!PopupFolder:$CommonPrograms$utilities|$Programs$utilities"
*bPopup "Media" !new !PopMedia "!PopupFolder:$CommonPrograms$media|$Programs$media"
*bPopup "Games" !new !PopGames "!PopupFolder:$CommonPrograms$games|$Programs$games"
*bPopup "Favorites" !new !PopFavorites "!PopupFolder:$Favorites$"
;=============================================================================

I added the "c:\apps" and put a winamp shortcut in there, saved, used !recycle...presto, winamp short cut under "apps"

Posted by member 112344 on 2004-02-12 12:40:02 link

not sure if the syntax for "!PopupFolder:c:\apps" is correct but so far it works

Yeah, I was having problems with the bottom buttons also. The html file in the docs folder said that $Programs$ pointed to c:\documents and settings\username when it actually points to c:\documents and settings\username\start menu\programs. The programs folder is where you have to create the new "application" sub-dir. Of course, changing the path like you did works as well!

i solved the bottom buttons problems the same way :)
but i still have not found how to make the tasks
work at startup...
who made this theme anyway?
maybe he/she can help?

Posted by member 132372 on 2004-03-09 13:26:38 link

well, I haven't got that problems, the problem I got is that the screenshot sais that there is a Mem, cpu and swp% bar... but I don't see it...
How can i see it? (No, not the "System info" window :P)

Posted by member 132372 on 2004-03-11 11:07:14 link

ah, I found it... I just need a higher screen resolution :D

Posted by member 21156 on 2004-05-19 18:17:17 link

I just installed this theme and it's great... onyl two things though.

1. How do I turn the sounds off?
2. Sometimes when I open a window or application and a new Virtual Desktop it jumps me back to the window I was in before that and then opens it. Also if I right click and then click off on the desktop somewhere it does the same thing. How do I get around this?

Thanks in Advance
