Error message whenever I try a new theme Thread last updated on 2004-02-06 07:48:34

Every time I try to use a new theme I get the error message "Error: Could not locate module. Please check your configuration."

Could someone please help? I've done everything I've seen on all these other new theme threads (unless I missed one that deals with this) and nothing seems to work.

Does this happen with each and every module the theme tries to load? Is it an OTSv2 compliant theme? Are you on 9x?

No, I'm running XP, and it doesn't for every module as far as I know. It only does it once and they say they are OTSv2 compliant. Is there a theme I can try that is compliant and really stripped down, just to test it or something?

shades of grey (mine). I haven't heard any technical complaints about it, so it should be good for testing. and the one on here is only about 12k or so. :P

Bradwick...
i was having problems to with loading almost all themes (only 2 or 3 worked).

When I was trying to install elegance-16, it said that it couldn't load the module bla bla bla...
I noticed that on the top of the error message board, the link for the modules wasn't right.
This folder is autocreated when you install Litestep, and it's name is the same of your Windows XP user account.

Do as i did:
1. If you have 2 words or more in your Windows XP user account, change it for only 1 word.
2. Install Litestep
3. Before finishing instalation, setup will ask in what folder do you want your profile. Choose the last option (Exemple - C:\Litestep\Pedro *your windows XP user account name will appear as the folder name for the profile)

and after this... I hope you are good to go.

(This worked with me... good luck)

If you still have problems after that... I could help you on IRC.
You got the same error message that i got! And I was almost ready to start smashing my pc... :P

once again... Good luck

Thanks a lot for all the help. I'm away from my pc until later today, so I will try all of those things and see what happens.
