In, 3 different themes, I have had the individual desktop backgrounds vanish. This sometimes happens after a recycle, but not always. This sometimes happens without a recycle after a seemingly random period of time. Once it does happen, a recycle will not fix it. Switching themes does not help either.

It never really bothered me until I started making my own first theme. No way am I going to ship it with such an annoying flaw. I did a google for similar problems and got hits al the way back to 1999, but no fixes.

I think most people now are using ckvwm-1.40 or rabidvwm-1.1.1. I know RabidVWM's painting code has no relationship to that in sysvwm, so I feel I can safely guarantee you won't get the same problem there. (unless there is something horribly wrong with your machine)

I will explore RabidVWM's and ckvwm's docs. Thank you for the tip.
