Whenever i launch "file manager" from within litestep (pointing to c:\winnt\explorer.exe) it relaunches the explorer shell aswell, bringing back the windows task bar and reloading the entire explorer shell. I even tried running explorer with the /E switch, no joy. Anyone know what causes this?
oh, that's on win2000....
yes. Windows2000 is NT 5.0, WindowsXP is NT 5.1. it will work exactly the same.
There is also galois' shell installer around (http://www.shellfront.org/utils/win2kinstaller.zip). That usually fixes the problem if you can't. Using something like ShellOn can help as well.
none of that worked.. I've edited the registry before and nothing came of it :( Seems to work fine on my home PC, but not here, although I do have admin rights on this machine. Odd... But thinking back, it used to work.. hrmmmm anyhows.. thanks for all the [quick] help
Try to install litestep for all users.
Litestep.exe -install...
"yes", "yes", "yes"...
If you really need some users to use the explorer shell... Humm, try another filemanager. I recommend Directory Opus...
yeah.. tried that too.. but i will try using another file manager instead.. thanks
