I hate to ask but the search feature is down and i need an urgent answer. Is litestep compatible with unix/linux? Probably a dumb question. If it is what exactly do i need to D/L? Thanks so much!

LiteStep doesn't run under Linux or run Linux applications. It can make your interface look more Linux-like, but that's about it.

If you're asking whether or not LiteStep can be used under Wine or a similar Win32 compatibility/emulation layer... my impression would be that it can't, and that given the way that the Linux architecture is structured, it would be of debatable use even if it could.

If you're looking for something that will allow you to run Linux apps under Windows, I'd suggest checking into either Cygwin or v3.5 of MS' Services for UNIX. Cygwin has a wider range of applications available and can be downloaded anonymously, but SFU runs the apps native; it's faster and more integrated with the OS.

HTH.
