Hi ppl!
I'm new to litestep theme creation, and i'm creating a theme based on the longhornOS. I found out that many ppl use lsbox on their themes, and the questions are:
-What is the main purpose of lsbox?
I know it can create freefloating boxs, but i see ppl using it in fixed boxes, what are the advantages of using this over using labels or shortcuts and etc?The man reason of this question is if i want/need to use lsbox or not.
I did a little search in the forum and don't find my answer, if someone knows a good tutorial/faq for this a would apreciate.

lsbox supports alpha transparency, which can be used on every (not sure about that) module hooked into a lsbox. other than that, i don't know either :)

By putting everything into an lsbox you can manipulate the box as a single entity for positioning, transparency (as ElkMonster pointed out), visibility... With these you could also have animation fx for stuff like autohiding (note there are some fx built into lsbox).. I'm not sure if the fading alpha fx works though
