Quick blinds question Thread last updated on 2003-02-24 08:38:01

I was just wondering if there was a certain other program that people use to get their windows a different skin as well in litestep or if litestep themes should do it themselves.

(ex: I have litestep installed and running, but my control panel window is still like a Win XP window as far as how it looks around the border of the window with the blue bubble like crap)

WindowBlinds is the quasi "standard" if you will for window skinning. There were other programs in the past like EFX that used to skin, I believe there are bangs within a dll now to toggle WB themes if not use mzscript.dll or something to throw commands directly to teh windowblinds executable. I would go with WB just to make life simple(r).

shellwm ( shellwm.sf.net ) is developed by some of the indiestep team. It's simpler to skin with it because it on;y skins the titlebar and the borders.

ShellWM looks very promising. Unfortunately, it would not work properly for me. I looked at WindowBlinds too but it was too bloated for my taste.

Perhaps I was a bit quick to judge it. There where some bugs in the graphics. But I tested it some more now and it seems that it doesn't get along with the dopus 6 windows very well. Maybe I'll look into that later.

you could just put that app in the exclusions-list, though...
