sounds like you installed a theme and had part of it break and are using it to reinstall itself. switch themes back to the default and try again.

probably deleting the folder for the theme thats already there wouldnt hurt either

there shouldnt be... did you try deleting the $ThemesDir$MV directory?

Posted by member 91925 on 2004-01-05 08:53:47 link

is that a file or word that i have to delete

To make this absolutely work you have to put the modules.ini file that came with this zip in your litestep program directory for it to read the right settings. if you dont some apps will not work... another reason for them not working is if you have alternative file names for the litestep directory therefore your gonna have to edit the modules .ini. each mod has its own config make sure all the directories point to where the theme is. In the litestep directory you need to edit the step.rc with this line ( litestepdir c:\litestep\ ). if you have anymore question you can give me a comment but dont get mad if this doesnt work cause your running windows 95 i made this on xp and have not tested it on any other box so happy stepping... the systray worx like this "right click" on the active task label it goes forward and "left click" goes backward or something like that.

thats wut the read me says

but am i supposed to edit step.rc or the modules? cuz i cant open step.rc as a word

Posted by member 1 on 2004-01-05 10:31:24 link

that tells me that the themer has no clue on how to write a theme and you should NOT be using it. there is only one module that depends on the modules.ini anymore and nobody uses it.

Dump the exe you have now to install litestep and download the newer version in the downloads section of this site.
I think its 3.0.2 or newer by now.
Its OTS2 and a lot more easier for new users.
Just make sure you download OTS2 themes from this site.
Download the zip to your desktop and rename it from .zip to .lsz and double click...
If you have support for OTS2 forget the first part.
