Particular theme Thread last updated on 2004-01-02 15:18:49

I'm sure someone has asked this before, but "search" is disabled and I have strolled around looking for something similar and could not find anything; anyway...

Istalled Litesteps, tried a couple of themes (even Gathering). As a result my computer boot time triples (at least) and winamp does not run anymore. I uninstalled already. The problems stayed, but that's something I'll take care later... The question here is:

Is there any theme with not much "bells & whistles" plain, simple (lets me listen the radio through winamp :) ) and easy to use? Just to work. No to stare to the background...

As any frustrated windows user I really could use a shell that would be unobtrusive, informative and ***FAST***. Not a CPU hog.

Again, I beg for your forgiveness for starting a new thread out of a surely munched topic...

TIA

the boot time issue can be fixed by switching to the classic login style. There are many themes that fit into your criteria and you can find them in the Themes section.

and for litestep, it probably still runs, but the built-in theme controls probably don't work with it, correct? if that's the case, then uninstall wa3 and install wa2 or wa5. if that's not the case, then tell us exactly what you mean.

Yes that was the case. But I had wa5 installed...

thanks for the answers :)

well, the module that the theme uses may not be compatible with wa5. I haven't heard of any like that, but it's possible.

wa5 is supported by geekamp just fine. I wonder if the theme was written to test for version and is loading dynamp which is getting confused on which version of commands to use.
