I'm somewhat new to litestep and I've read all the docs that came with my current them(KDE by norman bates) I have the theme installed and everything works great except for the quicklaunch buttons on the right hand side of my menu bar. When I click on the E-mail Web-Browser Shell and Personal Folder nothing happens. When I first start Litestep I get several error messages here is an example of one of them:
Variable "TxtEditor" not defined

Expresion *Popup "edit Personal.rc" !execute ["$TxtEditor$""$PersonalDir$personal.rc"]

Any Help resolving this issue would be greatly apreciated

Hi there,

yup, you'll have to check your evars.rc for said entries. Some are in there by default (say, TxtEditor), but you can add as many variables as you like.

Could you give me an example say your evars.cfg seeing as how my theme didn't come with one? Also where does evars.cfg belong in my litestep folder or the theme folder?

your evars.rc file is part of the OTS specification. If you do not have this file in your personal folder you will need to reinstall because there is no saying something else won't be missing.

its is not an ots theme. I installed it by unzipping it to my litestep/themes folder and then copying the step.rc to my litestep folder.

evars.rc is part of your Litestep installation, not of a theme you're installing. It should be in your "personal" folder.

How did you chose to install Litestep? Did you use an installer, or do it by hand?

if the theme is using evars.rc it is an OTS theme.

ahh I understand now. Ok what should I do with it the only evars.rc file I have is from the default litestep theme.

evars.rc should be in your $personaldir$ and is carried across all themes so you don't need to redefine your commonly used applications.
