Howdy

i needed laycut to just display an image.. (a bg bar) just a background.. no other function.

and i got it using this, it works

*ShortCut "" 550 0 back.png

i just want to make sure that im not looping anything bad.?

If it's just a background, you might consider adding a #K at the end of the syntax to prevent it from being clickable. Then agian, you may want it clickable. :)
