Hello Everybody!

First of all, I want to apologize for asking some (in your eyes) really "stupid" Questions now.
I know, that I could use the Search-Function, but I don't really want, especially coz I don't really what I should search for (it's is also pretty hard, to search for something in foreign language Forum). Well, in addition to this, I don't know, if this is the right Forum for my Questions, so if it's not, you can move the Thread.

Well here are my newbie Questions.

1st - Where can I find the Files including the content of the popups. I want to translate some of the themes I downloaded into german for my personal use, and so I need to know, where I can do this.

2nd - What the Hell is a hotspot (yeah, I'm really stupid ;) )

3rd - How to activate the Rainmeter without the exe-File. I did it like it's described in the Docs, but it won't work.

Well, thats all. Now you can laugh, fuck me up or answer my questions.
Thx

PS: Did I mention, that I'm too lazy reading FAQS?

The themes most probably include a /config -subdirectory where popup.rc resides. From that on everything should be self-evident.

Hotspot is a position in screen where merely moving a mouse over it does something.

Activating Rainmeter without the exe-file is done likewise to activating other modules - loading them and specifying settings in the configuration files. The documentation and sample files that come with Rainmeter should clarify this.

And lastly, calling yourself stupid is no way to get sympathy here. I would have answered anyway, but as you probably now understand, my advice is of little value (especially with the Rainmeter) if you understand little about Litesteps' basic functions. You still should read as much of the docs as possible, and then come back if some things are impossible to deduct.
Besides, reading the FAQs is faster and easier than posting a query here and waiting for someone to answer.

Well, thanks a lot, that (hopefully) helped me a bit.
The problem with the Rainmeter is, that I did it as it's described in the Docs but it won't work ... so I'm using the exe File now, what's ,of course, not the best way.

Okay calling myself stupid was a kind of fun, but I often visited Boards of other Topics or Progs and there most users reacted really aggressive, when u asked them a "stupid" Question and so I tried to avoid such a reaction here.

BTW - does anyone know, if a german Litestep Community exists?

Yup. http://www.lsd-trip.de, http://www.ls-universe.info, #litestep.de on irc.freenode.net or just email me. :)

Also, we won't always be so willing to answer your questions, especially since you mentioned that you're just too lazy to read the FAQ's. If you're going to continue to use LS, you'll need to start reading a lot of module's docs to understand how to configure them.

Well I started reading them - exactly five minutes after Warma's reply. And then I saw, that my questions were really stupid, coz they are all answered in the first lines of the docs ;) Sorry for that dudes ;)

Well now everythings working really good (as far as I need it) and now I have a completly different question, which has less then nothing to do with LS.
I just want to ask, if there is a freeware alternative to Stardock' Iconmanager, coz this one doesn't really work at my machine (and it's SW - that sux ;) ). I know, this isn't the correct Board, but I thought that some of u are very experienced in skinning things.

Edit: Well, found the problem with IP and also Windowblinds ... its Litestep itself. With litestep the IP does not load the Folder and Drive Icons, in explorer it does and in wb it's the same with the Logoff/Shutdown and e.g. the Run... Windows. Anybody has a hint how to fix that? THX

Since I don't understand what you're trying to say, no.

The IconPackager issue is because it is an explorer hack...so no dice there. And those windows aren't skinned because they aren't applications, just dll's, and Windows likes to break when you skin them.
