syscolor module values Thread last updated on 2003-11-21 05:42:11

Hello everyone,

I recently downloaded the SerialX2 theme by Psynapse, which uses syscolor.dll. I applied the color change and got this, which looks great with the theme.

But when I try switching colors to fit another theme, I find that the small icons in file manager remain outlined in gray no matter what (see the small folder icons on the left).

Nothing in the windows display appearance properties seems to change it... I can change everything else. I also went into the scheme.ini file from which syscolor.dll gets its values for the SerialX2 theme and tried switching every value to bright red systematically to see what each one did, but none of them seemed to affect the gray icons. I looked at the syscolor.dll docs, and it seems like none of the values were left out.

At the very least, how do I switch it back to white? Can I control its color at all? Did I skip over one of the values?

Any help would be extremely extremely appreciated.

Thank you. :)

from what I can tell (after looking at the syscolor docs for the first time) that should be controlled by the SCWindow command. But if you've already changed SCWindow, and it didn't do anything, then I don't know.

Thanks for replying, guys... I've been hours on this and I can't find anything anywhere. And the icons remain gray. Granted I'm not a programming wizard, but I still read the docs.

I appreciate your input. Anyone else know anything about this?

Try closing and reopening the window or logging out and back in? I've seen that a number of times and it's always been temporary, like a bug in the way explorer caches icons.

I restarted and it works. :D

I really appreciate it. Thank you so much.
