Ok, I am a first time poster here so go easy on me. I have been using Litestep for a few months now and am loving it. I have managed to customize an existing theme to my liking and will be most likely attempting to create my own in about a month. However, I have encountered two bugs which are annoying me to no end. I have searched the forums here and at loose screws but with no results.

Whenever I launch a new application it automatically starts minimized in the taskbar (which is on autohide) which makes it hard to tell if the application has launched or has crashed during launch. Also, I have noticed that I no longer get the popup system tray alerts from trillan. Anyone have any suggestions as to a workaround or fix for these problems? Anyone else having the same issues? Other than this litestep has been awesome and I'm loving playing around with it.

trillian has system tray alerts?? I've only run it under LS, so I guess I've never seen them before.

Yes it does. Now I have no idea when people come online or even message me because I get no systray popup and the new window minimizes to my autohidding taskbar, very annoying.

Currently no systray module support balloon tips. Its a module limitation.

As for the applications starting minimized, how are you launching them? (hotkey, shortcut... which module?) Are you sure they are minimized, or you just do not see them until you click their task icon?

Balloon Tips? I don't think I mentioned that unless IM programs use ballon tips to generate their popup alerts. As for the apps starting minimized, I just assumed they were minimized because they do not appear on the desktop until I go to the taskbar and click on the app there. I usually launch these apps from the right-click menu.

I've been using LS for a couple of weeks now and my applications are all launching normally.
Trilly is acting the same as it did in explorer, I get the new mail popups and the flashing systray icon for new messages and the flashing im window taskbar entries for new messages in current converstations. I expect it's a problem with your theme, not with LiteStep itself. Also do you have the latest version? 24.7 RC1?

I realize it's probably a problem with the theme and my coding but I'm just trying to figure out what could possibly be causing it. I'm using the newest indie build from sourceforge and the newest modules I could get my hands on. I'm using vtray for the systray and taskbar3 for the taskbar. I noticed today that if I start up MSN Messenger (shudder) it handles the popups fine and stangely enought the whole new apps being launched minimized seems to have corrected it'self (weird). So if anyone has a solution to the trillan popup issue I would appreciate any help. Cheers

the "newest indie build" is about 6 months old... go get yourself a copy of .24.7 rc1 from here and see if that helps

well, theres an indie build from may on shellfront... i guess the shellfront page and the sourceforge page werent really kept up together
