Yup. That's what I'm attempting to do.

I was hoping that there might be a more direct method already coded into litestep or a module that I don't know about yet but, what I have so far is:

*bunch* of windows program shortcuts (adobe stuff mainly) in my 'Startup' folder of my 'Start Menu'. -->

VWMStartProgramOnDesktop containment rules...
(Photoshop to Desk 7, Illustrator to Desk 8, Etc.)

Don't get me wrong, it's pretty cool to be able to do that but, some programs I was hoping to have on more than one desktop. ie. iexplore on desk 3 for Int'ra'net site & iexplore on desk 4 for Int'er'net sites.

I use about 9 desktops constantly and another 3 have several different programs that float around on them. Whenever I have to reboot it would be ridiculously cool to have litestep set everything up for me.

If anyone happens to know of a more direct method please let me know!

Many Thanks!

hmmm... i think you can specify it by window title as well as class name, so you could specify the iexplore windows by the title

True, that's what I'm doing so far. Overall it's fairly well setup. Just not as neat and tidy as I was hoping. (Photoshop tends to gather upon recycle & still need to make minor adjustments each reboot).

- Anyone know how to tell a specific program to launch upon litestep start-up? I thought I remembered doing that at one point but, it's been several years ago...

well, you can put it in your startup folder, just like you would do under explorer

if you want it to run on startup and recycle, use mzscript, and add a *script start line for it

Thanks Doy. mzscript sounds pretty cool, anything that lets you write macros should come in handy. I'll have check out that route.

i'd suggest the startup folder, and a few *VWMStartWindowsOnDesktop lines in your personal.rc
